What are the best strikers duos you have ever seen? Every football fan likes to remember his favourite collaboration in football. There have been many remarkable duos and trios in the world of football.

The Manchester United has had some of the best striker duos in history

Older fans will always remember the unforgettable cooperation of Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole in the Manchester United jersey. Some United fans that are younger will definitely remember iconic Wayne Rooney and Ruud van Nistelroy force. Those were proper goal machines, but also great assist. In modern football it is much harder to see such a wonderful cooperation such as those. Money started to fuel modern football and all players want to reach high goal scoring numbers, thus rather optioning for a shot at a goal then an assist. 

The Za-Sa duo

This pair of Chilean forwards emerged as one of the best in the 90s. Iván Zamorano and Marcelo Salas formed the Za-Sa duo in Chile’s attack. Both were prolific scorers for top European football clubs.

The «Duo Sacapuntos»

The «Duo Sacapuntos· was one of the most contrasting attacking pairs in history. Zigic, standing at 1.91 meters tall, and Munitis, at 1.63 meters tall, formed one of the best striking partnerships at Racing de Santander in the early 2000s. Goals of all kinds for a unique frontline. 

Their nickname is due to the legendary pair of Spanish comedians from the 80s called «Duo Sacapuntas» (Pencil Sharpener Duo). One was tall and the other short. Similar to these two forwards who were given this nickname because of the number of points they earned for their team with their goals and actions.

Villa-Torres

If we move away from England to Spain, there is one more legendary cooperation, and that is the one of David Villa and Fernando Torres. They managed to play such easy flowing attacking football and have pushed Spain twice European Championship title and World Cup title in 2010.
