The return of the Bundesliga after six weeks of break was the main news of the weekend. But there were many others like the victory of the first in Spain, the return of the FA Cup in England or the unexpected setbacks of many of the first classified in Italy:
- El Bavaria, even more leader: The return of the German league brought a new victory for Guardiola's team on their visit to the Borussia Moenchengladbasch field for 0-2. Important victory that places them ten points ahead and one game less over Bayern Leverkusen who lost 3-2 on his visit to the Freiburg countryside. Dortmund did not go beyond 2-2 at home against Augsburg, already placing 14 Bavarian points.
- In Italy, Juve stumbled. Juventus could not chain a new victory at Lazio's home and let two points escape during their visit to the Roman fiefdom. A new goal from Fernando Llorente was of little use. Roma took advantage of the setback and won 1-3 Hellas Verona and is six points behind the Juventines. The Naples, with a goal from Albiol, He couldn't beat Chievo either (1-1). Inter drew at home against Catania and AC Milan defeated Cagliari away to move within five points of Europe.
- The best continue their step in the League. Victory for Atlético de Madrid at Rayo Vallecano's home with Arda Turan as the main protagonist with two goals. Also victory for Real Madrid against Granada 2-0 with goal from Ronaldo. Valencia tied 2 at home against Espanyol and Athletic thrashed 1-5 to the always difficult Osasuna.

- PSG does not go beyond a draw. PSG could not overcome Guincamp and reaped a 1-1 which allows Monaco to cut, without Falcao, part of the six points available to the Parisian team. Lille's setback at home against Rennes seems to definitively distance them from the fight for the title.
- And we end with the FA Cup where the favorites do not give up. City scored 4-2 against Watford with Agüero hat-trick. Arsenal's resounding victory 4-0 against Coventry City and Chelsea's suffered victory at home against Stoke. None of the candidates were surprised in the oldest competition in the world.
