The Super Ballon d'Or should be brought back into vogue?

You know that the Super Ballon d'Or exists? It was December way back 1989. The famous magazine France Football celebrated the 30th anniversary of the magazine with an award as special as it was unknown: the Super Ballon d'Or.

What is the Super Ballon d'Or?

This award concerned a trophy whose objective was to recognize the best Ballon d'Or of all those who had won it up to that point. Platinum, Cruyff, Di Stéfano and many others aspired to be the best of the best. In the end it was Don Alfredo, The former Real Madrid star, to bring home this prestigious but unique award in history. Di Stéfano is in fact the only player in all of history to have won a Super Ballon d'Or.

Since then, France Football has never celebrated this type of event again, except that honorary Golden Ball which was awarded to Diego Armando Maradona in 1995 to celebrate the opening of the prize to non-European players (the Argentinian Di Stéfano also had Spanish nationality). The same year in which the first and only African in history so far won it, George Weah. The Liberian is undoubtedly one of the best African players of all time.

He should be given the Super Ballon d'Or again?

Looking at the last few years in which Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo competed and shared all the Golden Balls awarded, they should rethink the creation of the Super Ballon d'Or? Who would win it?

They should give it to both of them since they are the two players who have won it the most times in history? Questions that with the separation between the Ballon d'Or and The Best of FIFA it seems that we will not get answers for a long time.
