Ernesto Valverde, presented as new coach of Valencia

Ernesto Valverde has been presented as the new coach of Valencia CF. The former coach of Athletic Bilbao and Vila-real CF, among others, will be in charge of the Valencia ship until 30 June 2013 and will relieve Mauricio Pellegrino of his duties.

The new Valencia coach will travel to Lille with his new team, where they will play their last match of the Champions group stage.

As the note from the Valencian club says, “Valverde, in his career as a coach, He began his professional career at Athletic Club last season 2003/04 where he qualified the Basque team to the UEFA Cup and reached the semifinals of the Copa del Rey. Posteriorly, The man from Extremadura signed for RCD Espanyol last season 2006/07 with which he reached the UEFA Cup final, who lost against Sevilla FC in the penalty shootout. As coach of Olimpiacos FC, in its two stages, after his time at Villarreal CF, won the Greek League and Cup last season 2008/09; posteriorly, in the campaign 2010/11 won the League Championship again, and in the next, the 2011/12, his second 'double' in the League and Cup”.
