The third round of the Copa del Rey, served
Sporting de Gijón-Mirandés is the most outstanding match of the third round of the Copa del Rey after the draw played at the headquarters of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
The Asturian team, that descended to Second last May, will try to give joy to his fans after the bad start in the Liga Adelante, against the team that last season was the revelation of the tournament, in which he reached the semi-finals, where he was eliminated against Athletic Bilbao.
Another attractive clash is the one that will face Almería and Alcorcón. The Andalusian team seeks revenge after being removed from the promotion group to the First Division last season by the yellow team, who has a special affection for this competition after the 'alcorconazo’ of the year 2009 which meant the elimination of Real Madrid.
Ten teams from the Second Division and thirteen from Second Division B participated in the draw held this morning. The matches will be held as a single match on Wednesday. 17 October, in the stadium of the team whose ball was drawn first.
The Alcoyan, Second Division B, has been exempted and qualifies directly for the next round, that will be raffled 19 October.
The First Division teams will enter that draw, including the seven participating in European competitions (four in the Champions League and three in the Europa League), that will face the six surviving clubs of Segunda B and Alcoyano.
