Manchester United have failed to get past the tie at White Hart Lane. They faced in London the first of the Premier against the fourth at the latter's house, an unbeatable match marked by snow.
Manchester United took the lead in the minute 24 with a good header from Van Persie, the Dutchman is thus placed with greater authority if he fits as the top scorer in the Premier League.
From Van Persie's goal, Tottenham leaned up to try to get the tie. But what the men of Villas Boa did not have was a great De Gea who stopped everything that came his way.
The Madrid goalkeeper's game was undoubtedly the best since he arrived at Manchester United. De Gea made one of the stops of the year in the second half, after beating Dempsey in the small area with a point-blank shot.
Tottenaham seemed unable to tie the match, but in the minute 92 Dempsey scored the tying goal on a somewhat muddled play. The North American player deserved the goal, after having erred many times.
