Atlético beat Betis by 2-4 in match of the second day of the league delayed and in this way it is placed second in the qualifying table, behind Barca, after a game that had everything: goals, good football and expelled (two for the local side) by the “riguroso” Alvarez Left”
Atletico Madrid striker Ramadel Falcao, after scoring his first goal against Betis, in Villamarin.
The team that runs the 'Cholo’ Simeone showed power, football and devastating capacity in his attack, although his triumph was facilitated with the expulsions on the Betic side. Salvador Agra put Betis ahead with a header. But the joy did not last long for the Verdiblanco team, that he could sentence with a play that Rubén Castro culminated and that Sergio Asenjo avoided with a lucky intention, since Falcao scored in a shot from afar in the face of the passive attitude of the Betic defense.
From here the game was animated, with an Atlético that showed its ambition against a Betis that seemed out of the game and that went through moments of real anguish. After the first half hour of play, Pozuelo was able to tip the balance in favor of the locals, with a shot that Asenjo neutralized.
In the last five minutes of the first period, the match went crazy with Atlético looking for the goal that would give them an advantage on the scoreboard, with occasions of great danger before the verdiblanco framework. But then Casto's small figure loomed larger with two superb saves., to the 39 y 43 minutes, to pitches by Raúl García and Falcao.
DOUBLE EXPULSION
And already at the end of the first half, Juan Carlos took advantage, with luck, a sporadic counter-coup from Agra, down the right wing, to bring the unexpected 2-1 the net.
The first minutes of the second half were devastating for Betis, who suffered the expulsion of central defender Perquis in a penalty play that Falcao turned into his second goal.
Betis wandered at times against an Atlético that replaced Falcao to put on Diego Costa ,who did not miss one of his first interventions to put the 2-3 the score. From there the game decreased in intensity with a more conservative Atlético and a Betis limited by numerical inferiority, that was accentuated with that of the Costa Rican Joel Campbell, for double yellow, to the 77 minutes. Already in added time, Raúl García put the final 2-4 the score, in a play with attacking superiority.
