The income received by the clubs participating in European competitions

904 million distributed the Champions League last year to the 32 teams. Real Madrid was the club that took the most money with a whopping 57.414.000 euros, a figure that exceeded PSG by three million, second highest earning team with close to 54 millions of euros. Atlético de Madrid pocketed some 50 millions of euros.
The figures are obtained from the fixed number of the first phase and the amounts obtained per game won or tie overcome, plus the concept of the market pool – money that is distributed among the teams based on the proportion represented by the sale of television rights in their country over the total, the latter section where PSG got most of their prize.
Only these three groups passed the 50 millions of benefits. The rest stayed far away because no one else reached the 45 million income from participating in the Champions League. Bayern generated 44 millions, the same as United. Juve stayed in 43 and Barcelona managed to enter 41 despite falling in quarters.
Anderlecht and Austria Vienna were the teams that received the least money for playing the highest continental competition with 12 millions. The Royal Society entered 17 despite falling in the first phase.
Top 10 from income:
- Real Madrid: 57 millions
- PSG: 54 millions
- Athletic: 50 millions
- Manchester United: 44 millions
- Bayern Munich: 44 millions
- Chelsea: 43 millions
- Juventus: 43 millions (their participation in the Europa League is not taken into account)
- Barcelona: 41 millions
- Naples: 38 millions
- AC Milan: 37 millions

The Europa League, another world
The difference between the participating teams in the Europa League and the Champions League was again abysmal. The champion Sevilla entered 14.612.000 euros, which would be equivalent to being the third team with the least income in the Champions League. The semi-finalist Valencia, for example, reached 8.212.000 euros, economic concept that any participant in the European Cup far exceeded.
Again, it is shown that playing the Champions League is worth more financially than even winning the Europa League, although it is always nice to win a European tournament.
