Surreal but true. Players and referees eventually throwing himself to the ground during a match played between Liga de Portoviejo and Manta in Ecuador Second Division. The reason was none other than an attack of bees in the middle of the football match that finished invading the pitch.
“Bees invaded the field to 27 minutes of the first half, so players and referees took to the field to prevent any attack, while fans and journalists had no inconvenience”, he told Efe Enrique Zambrano journalist who was at the stadium covering the game.
After the exit of the bees, the game resumed and continued as normal. However, is not the first time in Ecuador a match for this particular reason. He was suspended in Guayaquil, in 2016, the match between Ecuador and Aucas River, to the 8 minutes by the presence of bees if there major problems that caused by biting many present at this stage that day.
