There will be no Europe next season for Inter Milan, got off for the first time in 14 years of continental competitions after losing in their fiefdom against Lazio (1-3). It was the highlight of Wednesday's day in Serie A, in which Napoli secured second place by beating Bologna at home (0-3) and will accompany Juventus - who won at Atalanta's home (0-1)- in the Champions League. For your part, Milan maintains its chances after beating Pescara at home (0-4).
In the sad night of San Siro, Inter gave up and begins a long journey, forced to reflect after a season for Oblivion. Sergio Floccari put Lazio ahead in the 22; the Argentine 'Ricky’ Alvarez tied the 33 y, just before the break, Brazilian Anderson Hernanes once again put the visitors ahead (1-2).
Twenty minutes to go, Alvarez missed a penalty that he threw over the goal - and that would have meant a tie- and in the 77 Nigerian Ogenyi Onazi, he sentenced with a great goal with a powerful shot’ from outside the area (1-3).
Napoli forged their victory in the second half, in which he scored his three goals. Slovak Marek Hamsik opened the scoring in the minute 53, ten minutes before the Uruguayan Edinson Cavani achieved the second, penalty.
The Swiss international of Macedonian origin Blerim Dzemali closed the scoring (0-3) in it 67, certifying a victory that places Napoli with 75 points that Milan will no longer be able to match, that clings to third place after beating last-place Pescara at home (0-4), in the absence of the last two days.
With two goals from Marco Balotelli (penalty, in the minute 9; and in the 57), plus those of the Ghanaian Sulley Muntari (in it 33) and Frenchman Mathieu Flamini (51), Milan retained third place, con 68 points, four more than Fiorentina, who won in Siena (0-1) thanks to a goal from the Argentine Gonzalo Rodríguez in the minute 14.
With their loss on Tuesday against Chievo at home (0-1), Roma made life difficult with a view to playing in Europe next season, since Udinese and Lazio did not waste the opportunity and surprised at home, respectively, to Palermo and Inter, that in this way lost any option to enter European competition.
The Colombian Luis Muriel advanced, at minute ten, to Udinese, who won in Palermo (2-3) and Natale was allowed the luxury of missing a penalty after Fabrizio Miccoli achieved the local tie, in it 34.
In the second half, Angella got the 1-2; the Uruguayan Abel Hernández tied the match, but, with three minutes to go, Moroccan Mehdi Benatia scored the definitive 2-3.
That leaves those from Udine fifth, con 60 points, in Europa League positions, to which the two capital teams still opt, Lazio y Rome, which are sixth and seventh, respectively, con 58.
Juventus, who had already secured their thirty-first league title ('Scudetto') last sunday, defeated Atalanta in Bergamo (0-1), thanks to a goal from Alessandro Matri, in the minute 18, in a day in which no local team managed to win.
