Gregorio Manzano returns to Real Mallorca coach for the third time
Gregorio Manzano will be presented at 13:00 as the new coach of Real Mallorca after the dismissal of Joaquín Caparrós. The jienense, who faces his third stage at the helm of Mallorca, will conduct his first training at 17:00. The agreement was reached today after several hours of negotiations in which the name of Fernando Vázquéz was also being considered as a possible replacement for the vermilion bench.
Defeat by 3-0 in Anoeta was the final sentence of Caparrós. The Utreran has fallen due to results that have installed the team in the relegation zone, four points from permanence. Six points from the last 51 disputed have been too heavy a burden and, although Lorenzo Serra had a hard time making the decision, pressure from various sectors and these results have forced him to take the final step.
Caparrós said goodbye to the squad yesterday afternoon and in the press room he assured: “A decision like this does not like a professional, but they spoke to me magnificently about Mallorca and I leave with that idea multiplied, here they have made me grow. My thanks to Mallorca, their people, the fans and a group of footballers who will carry this out”.
