José Luis Núñez dies, mythical Barcelona president

José Luis Núñez has died to the 87 years old in Barcelona. He was one of the most influential Barça presidents in its history. I hold the position during 22 years, where under his leadership, FC Barcelona club experienced the greatest growth in its history which also, the club won 140 titles among the four sections available.

Nuñéz was president of Barcelona for more than two decades: He signed Cruyff and Maradona

He won elections in 1978 and he was in the presidential chair until 2000 when he was replaced by Joan Gaspart, his eternal vice president. He was the president who hired Johan Cruyff as coach, who then create the ‘Dream Team Cruyff’, and with whom he lived a complicated relationship despite the fact that together they won five league titles in a row and the first Barça European Cup in history., the Koeman's famous goal at Wembley in 1992.

He was also the president who signed Diego Armando Maradona at the beginning of the 80 among many other figures who wore the culé shirt between the decade of the 70 and late 20th century.
