Luis Enrique has revealed, at last, the player list that will represent Spain in the next Euro Cup that will start this June. The national coach has raised several expectations and, also, a lot of controversy since it has made different somewhat controversial decisions.
In fact, There have been several names that have been left out of the plans of the Spanish Mister: Iago Aspas, Sergio Canales, Jesus Navas… But, the absence that takes the cake and that has attracted the most attention has been that of the captain, Sergio Ramos.
Besides, and unlike his colleagues on the benches of other European teams, the Asturian coach has chosen to summon 24 football players, and not 26 as currently allowed by the organization of the continental competition for this edition.
This is the complete list of Luis Enrique
Aquí están los 24 protagonists who will play the European this summer:
- Goalkeepers: Unai Simon, David De Gea y Robert Sánchez.
- Defenses: Gayà, Jordi Alba, Pau Torres, Laporte, Eric Garcia, Diego Llorente, Azpilicueta y Marcos Llorente.
- Midfielders: Busquets, Rodri, Pedro, Thiago, Koke y Fabián.
- Forwards: Dani Olmo, Oyarzábal, Morata, Gerard Moreno, Ferran Torres, Adama Traoré y Pablo Sarabia.
The ‘Ramos case’ is going to make people talk
Luis Enrique knows very well that the decision to leave out the call to Sergio Ramos is going to 'bring a tail', and is not for less.
The center of Beds not well physically, it's more, has hardly participated with him Real Madrid in so far this year. However, in a list with so many options it seemed impossible that there would not be room for the current captain of the national team, and a man who is about to break the record for caps with Spain. The leadership and weight of Ramos in the locker room it is unquestionable, and many have seriously criticized the coach for not having him.
Also, the opponents of this new selection without Sergio Ramos they defend that Luis Enrique has summoned footballers who are also not starters in their teams, as is the case of Eric Garcia o Pablo Sarabia.
Historical: no Real Madrid player will be in the Eurocup
For the first time in the history of the Spanish team, no player of the Real Madrid will be in the final phase of the Euro Cup defending his country.
So he wanted it Luis Enrique, who will head to Europeo without members of the white set, something that has not sat very well either since men like Nacho they have performed at a very good level in this final 'sprint' of the season.
