Manchester City 2-Manchester United 3: Rooney and Van Persie make the difference

United and City played a fabulous Manchester derby. Both teams faced this match as one of the most important of the season… and they did not disappoint. Manchester United struck first with two goals from Wayne Rooney before the break and City came back thanks to goals from Yayá Touré. When the game was dying, A foul by Van Persie gave the three points to the 'red devils'.

In the first half, Manchester United was the clear example of effectiveness. Manchester City was the one that had possession of the ball and control in the center of the field, but two sparks from Sir Alex Ferguson's team meant the 0-2 before the break. Wayne Rooney was the author of the two goals for Manchester United to silence the 'citizen' stands.
