Real Oviedo, a historical returning to Second
Real Oviedo returns to elite football after 12 years fighting in the catacombs of Spanish football, debating between the Second B and even the Third. After a long agony, the Asturian team, one of the clubs that have played the most seasons in the First Division, will play again in at least the Second category of Spanish football.
After leaving behind another historic player like Cádiz in a duel that in the decade of the 80 and early 90 was top notch, the Asturians who had been first in their group ascend the fast track to Second. The gaditanos will have to play it again in a second opportunity. Founded in 1926, those of the Tartiere have been nothing more and nothing less than 38 seasons in First Division.
With one of the largest fans in Spain this season despite being in Second B, the next step for the oviedistas will be to make the leap to the highest category where they have been for most of their history. At the moment they will enjoy this ascent and it is that after having hit rock bottom it is not little. Congratulations.
